Questions And Answers

Lately, Lord, You have directed me to Your psalms.  While my words simply do not come to pray, may these be my prayers to You.

Questions:

“How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever?
How long will You hide your face from me?
How long must I wrestle with my thoughts and
every day have sorrow in my heart?
How long will my enemy triumph over me?
Look on me and answer, O LORD my God.
Give light to my eyes, or I will sleep in death;
my enemy will say, “I have overcome him,” and
my foes will rejoice when I fall.
But I trust in Your unfailing love; my heart rejoices in Your salvation.
I will sing to the LORD, for He has been good to me.”
Psalm 13:1-6

“O God, You are my God,
earnestly I seek You;
my soul thirsts for You,
my body longs for You,
in a dry and weary land
where there is no water.
I have seen You in the sanctuary
and beheld Your power and Your glory.
Because Your love is better than life,
my lips will glorify You.
I will praise You as long as I live,
and in Your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise You.
On my bed I remember You;
I think of You through the watches of the night.
Because You are my help,
I sing in the shadow of Your wings.
My soul clings to You;
Your right hand upholds me.”
Psalm 63:1-8

Answers:

“I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip—
He who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, He who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all harm—
He will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
Psalm 121

“The LORD is my shepherd, I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures,
He leadeth me beside the still waters,
He restoreth my soul.
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness
for His name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil,
for Thou art with me;
Thy rod and Thy staff,
they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me
in the presence of mine enemies.
Thou anointest my head with oil;
my cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the LORD
forever.”
Psalm 23

“...because God has said,
“Never will I leave you;
never will I forsake you.”
So we say with confidence,
“The Lord is my Helper; I will not be afraid.
What can man do to me?”
Hebrews 13:5b-6

You always have the answers, Lord, to any question I might have.  Though the times are really tough and the waiting seems so long, You and You alone will uphold me with Your Word and make it possible to walk through them as You lead and guide.  Praise You from Whom all things are possible.

Love,
Your straying daughter whom You love anyway
