He Heals

“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Yes, He does.  Praise, honor and glory in the highest to You, Lord...

It Won't Rain Always

“Someone said that in each life some rain is bound to fall
And each one sheds his share of tears
And trouble troubles us all
But the hurt can't hurt forever
And the tears are sure to dry
And it won't rain always
The clouds will soon be gone
The sun that they've been hiding has been there all along
And it won't rain always
God's promises are true
The sun's gonna shine in His own good time
And He will see you through”
Hearing these lyrics the other day, Lord, brought both tears and comfort to me.  Once again You reminded me of Your faithfulness in my challenging times.  I seem to need more reminders like that than usual these days.  Forgive me for continuing to take my eyes off of You and allowing the difficulties to sidetrack me from the glorious Truth that You are God, You are in control and You will do all that You have said You will do.  Thank You, Lord, for Your long-suffering with me.  Hang on to me, Lord, and hold me especially close.  I am slowly becoming a puddle.  May You receive all the praise, honor and glory in and through my life and circumstances.  I am still  all Yours.  Continue to do with me all that You desire in spite of my complaining.

A New View

Lately, Lord, You have opened my eyes to a larger and greater view of Who You are, Your power, Your majesty, Your glory and so many other aspects of Who You are.  I wish I could explain it to others or even to myself, but I find myself without words to describe Your latest revelations.  You are so much bigger and such greater Love than I can fathom or speak about. I keep coming back to “It’s all about You”.  I feel like I’ve been to the Mountain (Sinai) and seen Your glory...
“When Moses went up on the mountain, the cloud covered it, and the glory of the Lord settled on Mount Sinai.  For six days the cloud covered the mountain, and on the seventh day the Lord called to Moses from within the cloud.”  Exodus 24:15

Daddy and His Girls

Lord, thank You for our Daddy.  We cherish the times we have had with him all these 97 years.  I guess we’ve particularly cherished all the time since our Mother’s death in 2000.  Yes, I know that sounds strange, Lord, but You have given my sister and me an even greater intimacy with our Daddy than ever before.  He is a man that we have looked up to since we were born and will continue to do so until the day we die.  As always, Lord, You give Your children good gifts and our Daddy is one of the best. Thank You, Lord, for our Daddy.
“If you, then, though you are evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father in heaven give good gifts to those who ask Him!”  Matthew 7:11

The Real Easter

Gethsemane-
“And being in anguish, He prayed more earnestly, and His sweat was like drops of blood falling to the ground.”  Luke 22:44
“Going a little farther, He fell with His face to the ground and prayed, ‘My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from Me.  Yet not as I will, but as You will.”  Matthew 26:39
Betrayal-
“While He was speaking a crowd came up, and then man who was called Judas, one of the Twelve, was leading them.  He approached Jesus to kiss Him, but Jesus asked him, ‘Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?’”  Luke 22:47-48
Trials-
Caiaphas-
Those who had arrested Jesus took Him to Caiaphas, the high priest, where the teachers of the law and the elders had assembled.”  Matthew 26:57
Herod-
“When he learned that Jesus was under Herod’s jurisdiction, he sent him to Herod, who was also in Jerusalem at that time... Then Herod and his soldiers ridiculed and mocked Him.  Dressing Him in an elegant robe, they sent Him back to Pilate.”  Luke 23:7, 11
Pilate-
“When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd. ‘I am innocent of this man’s blood,’ he said.  ‘It is your responsibility.’”  Matthew 27:24
Crucifixion-
“When they came to the place called the Skull, there they crucified Him, along with the criminals- one on His right, the other on His left.”  Luke 23:33
“Jesus said, ‘Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing.’  And they divided up His clothes by casting lots.”  Luke 23:34
‘When He had received the drink, Jesus said, ‘It is finished.’  With that, He bowed His head and gave up His Spirit.”  John 19:30
Resurrection-
“He told them, ‘This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day.”  Luke 24:46
“‘Don’t be alarmed,’ he said.  ‘You are looking for Jesus the Nazarene, Who was crucified.  He has risen!  He is not here.  See the place where they laid Him.”  Mark 16:6
“Jesus said to her, ‘I am the Resurrection and the Life.  He who believes in Me, even though he dies, and whoever lives and believes in Me will never die.  Do you believe this?’”  John 11:25-26
Lord, Easter is a wonderful celebration, but it’s not about bunny rabbits, Easter egg hunts, Easter baskets or new Easter clothes.  Not about bunnies but about lambs... the one Lamb Who gave His life for mankind... for me.  As much as I’ll enjoy the beautiful spring weather, looking at the children and their smiles and seeing all the bunnies, I never want to forget that Easter is all about the Lamb, Jesus Christ.  Once again it’s all about Him.
“The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, ‘Look, the Lamb of God Who takes away the sin of the world!’”  John 1:29
